Who is responsible

What we process, and why

• Presentations you upload. When you use office-kit, your uploaded .pptx files (and any constraints file) are processed only to produce the result you asked for. Presentations can contain personal data (for example names, images, or author metadata); we process them solely to run the requested operation. Legal basis: performing the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in providing a working trial (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• An essential session cookie. We set one cookie to keep your files and results separated from other visitors during your session. It carries no advertising or tracking data. Legal basis: it is strictly necessary for the service you requested.

We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking.

How long we keep it

Uploaded files and generated results live in a private, per-session workspace on the server. The whole workspace is deleted when your session ends or after a short period of inactivity. We do not retain your uploads beyond that — with one exception you choose yourself, below.

Optional: sending a failing case to the developers

If processing fails with an internal error, we offer to store the presentation(s) from that request together with the technical error log, so the development team can find and fix the problem. This is entirely optional.

• Nothing is stored unless you explicitly click to submit. Your click is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
• The submission is anonymous. We do not store your name, email address, or IP address with it.
• You receive a private reference token. It is your key to that submission — anyone holding it can download or delete the stored data.
• Stored submissions are kept on our server with restricted access and are deleted by our support team after they have reviewed your request, and in any case within 90 days.
• You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting the submission. Use your token on the support page to download a copy of what we stored, or to delete it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For normal use we do not retain anything after your session, so there is nothing left to access or erase. For an optional support submission, you exercise these rights directly with your reference token on the support page; because those submissions are anonymous, the token is how we locate the data without identifying you.

Hosting and processors

This website is operated on infrastructure provided by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur. Where a provider processes data on our behalf, we have the required data processing agreement in place.
